Crappie fishing jigs a surefire way to hook a huge slab.

How many times when you have been out fishing have you wondered what crappie fishing jig to use? There are so many types, sizes, colors to select from it is easy to get confused. Well let me explain exactly what a crappie fishing jig is , What crappie jig type to use for different situations, and what color to use.

So what's a slip bobber? Well, a slip bobber is a bobber that slides freely up and down your fishing line. For any bobber to work there must be a way to hold the it at a certain spot on the fishing line. To use the old fashion clip on type, you simply clip the bobber above the hook at the depth that you want your bait to be under water. This is fine but it limits your ability to cast if you want to fish deeper than about 3 feet. Here's where the slip bobber out shines the clip on type. The slip bobber allows you to cast just about as far as you normally would. You can also fish as deep as you want.

Well folks now that the winter is near over and the ice is off most of the lakes, ponds, rivers and streams all we need to do know is wait for the crappie spawn to catch some big slab spring crappie.

If you are ready to step up your fishing you will usually catch more fish using artificial baits rather then using live bait. Of course this statement is based on knowing what artificial lures to use. When you are fishing for pan fish smaller is better. Look for lures in the 1/4oz or smaller size.

Every crappie fisherman has had his good and bad days. The trick is to avoid the common mistakes all crappie fisherman make so you can always increase your chances of a good catch. Lets face it, to most us our fishing time is precious.
